Hey "I" just bought bfbc2 through steam, I got the game installed and everything worked fine untill I tried to play it. I got through the menu and all that crap, but as soon as i joined a server the screen turned white. I have no idea how to fix it... I'll post my specs -
Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2
3,00 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core
256 kilobyte primary memory cache
2048 kilobyte secondary memory cache
64-bit ready
Multi-core (2 total)
Not hyper-threaded
ATI Radeon HD 3800 Series <- Graphic card
I have no idea what's wrong, maybe my computer is to old or somthing.... fucking piece of shit
Need a bit of help here..

Re: Need a bit of help here..
I very much suspect, its what you have pointed out allready, the Gfx card.
It does depend on what edition that is of course, but I thnk, that card you have is below the min spec. I dont know exactly without looking it up.
The min specs for bc2 are:
Minimum Frostbite PC Specifications for BFBC2 & BF1943
Processor: Core 2 Duo @ 2.0GHz
Main memory: 2GB
Graphics card: GeForce 7800 GT / ATI X1900
Graphics memory: 256MB
OS: Windows XP
Free HDD space: 15GB for Digital Version, 10GB for Disc Version (BFBC2)
10GB for Digital Version, 4GB for Disc Version (BF1943)
I assume you have tried all the usual driver updates etc....?
Some others have had what appears to be a simular issue and its card related...

Re: Need a bit of help here..
to be honest i had the same thing its all to do with the settings folder that gets put in your documents i am at work at mo and cant talk you thru it , but if you go into your bfbc2 folder in your documents you will see a folder that controls the seetings for the game , make a few adjustments and it will run fine
also you have to chnge the direct x number your using in this folder and a few other settings and i bet it will work mate.
i will do a screen shot tonight and post it in here for you
every time i loaded the game to start with it crashed to desktop or went to a white screen so i am sure its the same problem ,
you have to change these settings before you even click on the game in your steam list
i also have the steam version mate gavac talked me thru it when it was happening to me or better still mate i will give you my mobile if you want it pm me and i will talk you thru int on the phone, i will be on all night tonight from 8 pm

Re: Need a bit of help here..
watch out, that phone call will probably cost as much as a new GFX card!
